Meet Elmar
Passionate hiker and founder of the thru-hiking community Elmar can be found on the trails for most of the year, preferably in the Alps or deep in Scandinavia. During his time off-trail, he works on thru-hiking.com to provide hikers with the right information and inspire them for their next long-distance hike. His passion to create the community began on the Slovenian Mountain Trail, where there was hardly any information available. The idea was born and since then, you can find more and more trails on the website and connect with other experienced hikers to ask questions about the trail you want to hike.

"Whether I'm going on a day hike or a hike of a few hundred kilometers, I need to be able to rely on my phone. Since I navigate using a hiking app with GPS, the battery tends to drain quickly. It's, therefore, a good feeling to always have enough power with me.
